A celebration of life’s cycles - all the rocky and challenging parts glistening.

This lidded form is one of those pieces that felt like it was making itself. After going through deep loss and healing from PTSD I felt a yearning to produce this pot and it’s sibling. Something about the texture and the uneven-ness of the surface becoming coated in a metallic glaze felt synonymous with being able to walk forwards on shaking ground. Placing a circle atop the lid to pick up and hold on to felt like a way to express the power returning to my myself. And the idea of being able to put a lid on something… a way to contain, put things behind me, and to store the important memories for later.

Hand constructed from Australian stoneware, finished in a metallic glaze.
Fired in my studio on Kaurna Country, Prospect, South Australia

Measures 18cm wide x 30cm high. This piece is one-of-a-kind.
